Dear Santa...

I have been a REALLY good girl this year! I have been keeping up with all my chores, I have been very helpful when asked to do something and I even cleaned up all the dog poo in the backyard last night. ;-) So for Christmas this year I would like you to bring me an iPad.

I promise to take really good care of it and I will never get sick of it! Oh and did I mention it is educational - well, sort of. :-)

To show you how much I will take care of it I have already made it a custom protector case using some of my new Stampin' Up! fabric called Sweet Stitches. Oh, just in case your elf's like it they can purchase some from me starting on January 4th (My Birthday) it will be in the NEW Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalogue.

Thanks Santa!

Love,
Sabriena

Christmas Cards

Now that everyone should have or will be receiving mine and Nick's Christmas cards I figured I would share them with the rest of the blogging world... :-)

I have to start off by saying I cannot take credit for this years amazing card as I CASEd it from Debbie Currier's 'FTL 144' card. I decided that if I was going to make 100 Christmas Cards in less then a month with everything else I have on my plate then I had better come up with a simple yet elegant design that would be easy to duplicate. Then I found Debbie's card and decided that I no longer need to come up with an idea of my own that I would just recreate her card. As you can see below the first card is a direct CASE of Debbie's original card and the second picture is the card with an added Marina Mist Satin Ribbon. I could not decide which card I liked better so I made 50 of each. :-)

Smooched Medallion

Goodness, even with my photo box today's picture did not turn out looking to good... Clearly I need to stop taking my photos so early in the morning.

Remember last week when I was telling you about the cards we made at this months technique club and how we used a another technique I learned at Regionals? Well, here is the first card we made! Everyone took turns inking up the Medallion stamp set in VersaMark and then spritzing directly onto the rubber of the stamp with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and stamping the image onto their Baja Breeze cardstock. I just LOVE how this technique leaves you with an amazing glimmery and elegant looking image.

Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for this card was a complete CASE from Amanda Farlinger over at 'Where I Stamp From' I fell in love with the over all look of this card and decided I just had to let all of my club ladies re-create it! Nothing wrong with that... right? If you ask me there no need to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to :-)

15 Days and Counting

Till this jolly man arrives! :-)

Last night at my monthly technique club I showed everyone yet another technique I learned at Regionals back in October. We inked up our stamps in VersaMark and then spritzed the stamp directly with Smooch Spritz and stamped away, making sure to allow the stamped images to air dry before assembling our cards. This technique left us with an amazing glimmery/elegant looking image. I will share with you the card and wine bottle tag we made using that technique sometime next week. They turned out amazing! :-)

Alright, now that I have you all wondering what any of that has to do with the Santa card pictured above, I shall explain... I decided I would switch things up a bit for the third project because it occurred to me after that as amazing of a technique this was, it might be really hard to clean the VersaMark and Smooch Spritz off my stamp set once all 6 ladies in my club had repeated the technique. (It was not so bad when it was just me creating the technique but it did take a few extra scrubs.) So, instead of causing myself the stress of cleaning three stamps we made the Santa face card above. I am sure it is not the first time you have seen him as he is widely spread over the Internet at this time of year.

I'm Still Alive

Sorry for the lack of any real posts since Thursday... I have been so busy this last week I feel like I am greeting myself at the front door as I come and go. Between birthdays, Christmas shopping, Christmas baking, Christmas card making, my monthly card club/scrapbooking club and everything else every day life throws my way I am a non-stop women right now. Oh and on top of all of that my Occasions Mini (goes live to the public in January 2011) pre-order arrived on last Friday and I have yet to play with anything that I ordered. :-( It totally sucks because one of my favorite perks to being a demo is being able to get my hands on new toys before everyone else! I told myself I was not aloud to sit down and create anything until all my Christmas cards were done and I finished planning for my December card club and scrapbooking club. I am getting close but not there just yet...

Having said all of that I do have a card to share with you today. (Sorry about the picture quality it was 5:30 in the morning when I took the photo and even though I used my light box it still did not turn out the greatest.) About a month ago I decided to participate in a Wedding themed swap on the amazing Stampin' Up! demo site you have all heard me talk about called Stampin' Connection. Now normally weddings would not be my thing but all of a sudden it seems like everyone around me is getting engaged so I figure it would probably be a good time to have a few extra Wedding ideas on hand.

Please note I am not the original creator of this card I saw a card similar to this ages ago and I cannot remember where or who created it, so unfortunately, I cannot give them credit. I did however change up a few things on the card to make it more of my own.

The Key Ingredients:
Wood-Mount Stamp Sets: None
Clear-Mount Stamp Sets: Word Play (120651)
Clear-Mount Blocks: Clear Block C (118486)
Card stock: Very Vanilla (101650)Designer Series Paper: None

Punches: Full Heart Punch (119883)

Big Shot Dies: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine (113439), Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (119277), Movers & Shapers Curly Label Stampin' Up! Bigz Xl Die (114506), Punch Windows Movers & Shapers Stampin' Up! Die (115953)
Adhesive: SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Mini Glue Dots (103683)Tools: Stampin' Up! Grid Paper (102787), Table Top Paper Cutter (106959), Paper Snips (103579), Craft and Paper Scissors (108360), Paper-Piercing Tool (116631), Mat Pack (105826)

Say Cheese

TGI... it's only Thursday. I woke up this morning all excited because it was Friday and I got to do a little crafting before work and then I opened my day-time/agenda and realized no it's only Thursday. Oh well such is life.

Today, I want to share with you my latest monthly scrapbooking club layout titled 'Say Cheese'. - Yes Dawn, another layout that goes to show you I just can't follow directions ;-) Ha-Ha! You may remember me saying I purchased an awesome scrapbooking club planner from Dawn Pritchard an amazing demo from Alberta! Well, apparently I have problems following Dawn's directions because so far none of my layouts have looked like hers. But in my defence they do follow the same general guidelines and look just as fabulous in the end. - At least I think they do.

So, you are all probably wondering why I keep posting layouts without any pictures on them... Well, October's layout was a Halloween theme and I did not have any Halloween pictures printed since Club meet before Halloween. But for this layout I actually have pictures picked out but I need to go get them copied before I stick them down. A girlfriend and I went to a Wedding Fair a few weekends ago (Don't get excited, she is the one getting married not me) and they had these Photo Booths set up that you could rent for your wedding. Oh my gosh! Have you ever been in one? They are an absolute BLAST! We had so much fun and the pictures are hilarious. The only problem was we only got one print of the pictures but once I get them copied I will re-port this layout with them on it so you can see what I am talking about.

Happy Stampin'!

The Reason My Sewing Machine Was at The Doctors

Note to readers... You might want to grab a cup of tea before you sit down and read this post ;-)

A couple months ago now I was looking at my Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric wondering why the heck I bought it since I really don't like any of the fabric patterns it came with. But I knew because I bought it and so I had to do something with it and that is when I decided to pull out my sewing machine and make myself a cute little half apron. I was well on my way when all of a sudden my thread broke and I could not get my bobbin thread to pull back up. I was so frustrated I tried everything to make it work (Don't you just hate when you are half way through a project and can't finish?) but I couldn't get it to re-thread properly so I put my sewing machine away and left it there for months until Nick asked me to hem a pair of his pants. Completely forgetting that my sewing machine was broken or not working since I had no idea what was wrong with it, I pulled it out and sat down to hem his pants to wind up super frustrated again so I packed up my sewing machine and the next day I dropped it off at my local sewing machine doctor.

Less then a week later they called me and let me know it was ready for pick-up. Off I went to pick up so excited to get my sewing machine back only to arrive to a bill of $107.00!!! Yes $107.00 I couldn't believe it but what was I supposed to do leave my sewing machine there? No! So I took it home and hemmed Nick's pants and finally finished my half apron... (If you missed these posts I also made a bunch of Coffee Mug Cozies and a cute little Lunch Sack/Bag)

I must say I was quite impressed with how my apron turned out. I am still not sure I like the fabric but it is cute and perfect for the holiday baking season. :-)

Oh I am going to apologize now for the terrible pictures. - I have had this project down for a week or so now but I have not had a chance to get Nick to take a picture of me wearing it and I couldn't wait any longer to share it with you so you are just going to have to use your imagination when looking at the pictures and pretend someone is wearing it.

Check out those pleats!!! I was darn impressed with myself for being able to make that. Other then when I first started sewing this apron I had not used a sewing machine since Grade 8 Home Economics when I made myself a pair of brown and white cow print boxers. - See your impressed now to right ;-)

Now for a picture of both sides of the apron. It was nicely ironed but I guess because it has been hanging on the back of my Stampin' chair for the last week it got a little wrinkled. Oh well...

What do you think about the pockets? Did you notice how they ever so nicely line up with the strips on the rest of the fabric.
Ha-Ha! I made two pockets and went to stick them on to notice only one of them lined up with the strips and the other one didn't so off to make a 3rd pocket I went. Yes, when it comes to my crafting everything has to be just perfect. To bad for Nick it's not the same way with dishes or laundry ;-)

Well there you have it my first sewing project in a long long time and just the beginning of many sewing projects to come. - I am serious just you wait until my NEW Occasions Mini designer fabric arrives. Before you know it this will be a sewing project kinda blog! KIDDING!!! :-)

Happy Stampin'!
